Joe had never seen Taylor so drunk before. He helped her through the door as she sang Christmas carols. “Jingle bells, Jingle bells, JINGLE AAALLLL THE WAAAY!” Joe couldn’t help but laugh as he watched her fall onto his couch. Taylor had had a little too much fun at the Christmas party earlier. He wasn’t going to let anyone he didn’t trust take her home. He was especially not letting her drive home. “Joe sing with me!” She yelled. Joe chuckled. “Taylor, you need to calm down, ok?” Taylor frowned, her hair a huge mess in her face. “ Did you see Camilla tonight Joe? She wouldn’t stop looking at you.” Joe nodded, half ignoring her, half laughing at her. She got up and began to walk around his condo. “You have such a nice place Joey.” Joe stood up too following her into his kitchen. Joe watched as she went through his fridge trying to find something to eat. She looked at him and frowned again. “You have no food.” Joe shrugged. “We can order something if you want.” Taylor walked towards him and wrapped her arms around his neck. “I miss you Joe.” She had gotten serious, it was as if she was sober. “If I weren’t drunk you would never have heard that from me. You miss me too?” Joe nodded. “Yes, I miss you too.” Taylor yawned and kissed his cheek. “Don’t take advantage of me Joe.” Taylor said pointing to herself. “I wouldn’t do that to you.” Taylor giggled. “I’m drunk and you’re a boy, I know how it works.” Taylor threw off her shoes as she began to walk towards a room. “Here, I’ll show you to a room.” Taylor waved him off. She walked straight into his room and got in his bed. “Are you coming?” Joe shook his head. “I think I’ll sleep somewhere else tonight.” Taylor pushed her hair back behind her ear. She rubbed her eyes whenever she was tired, which Joe loved. “Please.” She didn’t have to ask twice. He sat down beside her. “Do you remember when we used to do this? Remember when we used to watch movies until you fell asleep and when you woke up I would still be watching movies.” Taylor went on and on about when they were together. Joe listened. He knew how much of a mistake it had been to let her go. He was young and he would admit to being foolish. But he was trying to see if they could have a second chance. He loved her. Joe snapped out of his daydream when he realized Taylor had fallen asleep. He tucked her in and kissed her forehead. “Goodnight Taylor.”

Taylor woke up the next morning with a huge headache. Her head throbbed as she pushed herself up in an unfamiliar bed. She looked around. Where was she? What happened last night? She was still in her sparkly red dress but she was missing her shoes. She got off of the bed and walked out into what she presumed was the living room. “Hello?” She heard a familiar voice. “Hey, you’re up. I’m in the kitchen.” Taylor walked into the kitchen and saw Joe making pancakes. “Merry Christmas Eve, by the way.” Taylor gasped. “It’s Christmas Eve? What am I doing here Joe?” Joe wiped his hands on his apron and smiled. “You were drunk last night and thought I should make sure you were in safe hands. I figured I should take you here.” Taylor picked up her heels and sat down at the counter. “You couldn’t take me home?” Joe shrugged his shoulders. “I wanted to make sure you’d be okay.” Taylor watched him fail at flipping a pancake. “Do you need any help?” She asked giggling. “No, I can handle it.” He finished it up, burning nearly all of them and handed a plate to Taylor. “Thank you.” Joe gave her the best pancake he could. “For making burnt pancakes? You’re welcome.” Taylor shook her head no. “I mean, for helping me out last night. I really owe you.” Joe smiled. “I’ve never seen you so drunk in my life. You were insane.” Taylor smacked his chest as he sat down beside her. Taylor took a bite out of her pancake and made a face. “I never knew you were such a chef Joe.” He shrugged. “I’m not only talented in music Taylor.” They sat there in silence for a few moments. Joe face Taylor. “I don’t like your hair like this.” He said twirling a piece of her hair between his fingers. Taylor rolled her eyes. “It’s winter time Joe. I like my hair like this.” Joe let her hair drop. ” I just like your curls.” Taylor felt the heat rise up in her cheeks. “I should get going. My mom, she’s probably looking for me. If anything, she probably has a search team out there for me.” Taylor put her shoes on and walked out to Joe’s front door. Joe followed her. “You don’t want to finish our breakfast?” Taylor laughed. “It’s ok.” Joe opened the door for her. She heard a little bell jingle and she looked up. Joe had a mistletoe above his door, right where they were standing. They stared at each other. Should I go for it? Taylor thought. She watched his awkwardly scratch his neck. “I should go,” Taylor was cut off with a kiss form Joe. It was quick and sudden. Taylor didn’t know if she was still a little drunk or anything but she kissed him back. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him as passionately as she ever had. He kissed her right back. They were like this for a while. It wasn’t until Taylor pulled away. “I should really go.” Taylor began to walk off but Joe caught her arm. “Wait, why don’t we catch up? It’s Christmas right? I’ll take you out. We can talk, without you being drunk. How’s that sound.” Taylor smiled. “I’d like that Joe.” He pulled her in for one last kiss before she was off. “Merry Christmas Taylor.”
