Just in love. (New story)

I met her only yesterday but I think I’m in love, maybe. She came into my life with her curly blonde hair up in a loose pony tail, she was ridiculously tall, and was wearing a shirt with the face of a cat on it. Of course Allie was the first to laugh at her cat shirt. I thought it was cute, I even said it aloud receiving a glaring look from Allie. “Joey, she dresses like a child. That’s why you think it’s cute.” Allie was a real bitch. “She just got here Allie, be nice.” I had watched her make her way to the only desk available. She didn’t look up once. She sat down at her desk and pushed a strand of her golden hair out of her face. I was snapped back into reality when Allie kicked me. “Pay attention.” She hadn’t been talking about the class, which was English (my worst subject), she was talking about herself. But enough of that, I want to know the girl’s name. I kept thinking about her. She looked like she would be the head cheerleader or the Prom queen, and yet I knew she wasn’t. I knew that she wasn’t into the popular crowd and that she really didn’t care much about social acceptance. So I basically stalked her today. I tried to find her through the mesh of people in the halls. I tried to find her at lunch, randomly standing up to scan the room only to be pulled back down by Allie. Who, by the way, is not my girlfriend. I tried to find her during free period, wondering around aimlessly until I was on the verge of giving up. I have two bells left. I hear the bell ring and get up to rush to my next class. I’m side tracked when I begin to follow a tall blonde, is it her? I follow her until she turns into a class, it’s not her. The bell rings. I’m late. I run back to my class, knocking over someone, it’s the girl. This is how it’s like in movies though right? Expect she isn’t mad, she almost looks happy. “I’m sorry.” I hold out my hand, she reaches for it but doesn’t take it. Instead she pushes herself up; I probably look puzzled until she smiles. “Sorry, I’m Misophobic. That was really sweet though.” I probably still look confused because she laughs. I smile; I want her to laugh again. “I don’t like germs. I don’t mean you’re germy but, I just don’t do handshakes or high fives.” I finally understand and nod. “Do you know where this class is? I only just got here; I get so lost at new schools.” So this isn’t her first new school. She hands me her neatly folded schedule. I unfold it and scan it. “You’re going where I’m going.” I say. She smiles. “Great, I’m Taylor by the way.” She says. “I’m Joe Jonas, nice to meet you.” I’m about to hold out my hand again for her to shake it but pull it back to my side. We begin to walk to our class. We don’t talk much, but that’s fine with me. We’re a good foot away but I can still hear her start to hum. I smile at her, she doesn’t notice. I notice how her hair bounces as she walks. She turns to look at me. “Do you know the ABBA?” She asks me. I nod. “My dad and mom love them.” I answer. She snaps her fingers as she hums another song. I find her so refreshing. We finally make it to class. She smiles at me with all her teeth making her eyes all chinky. She holds up her fist. I look at her for a second but then fist pump. “Thank you.” She says, entering the class before me. This is when I know I’m in love with Taylor.

To be continued…
